Jonathan
Kalman, General Partner
Jonathan Kalman is a General Partner, Jaguar Capital Advisors
LLC, and Managing Partner of Jaguar Capital Partners, a private
equity investment firm. He is also Chairman of Katalyst LLC, an investment bank and FINRA broker/dealer.
Mr.
Kalman is former Chairman and CEO of Jaguar Acquisition Corporation,
a public company (NASDAQ: JGACU.OB) that he IPO’d and later
merged in a landmark transaction with China Cablecom, Ltd. (NASDAQ:
CABL) marking the first foreign investment in the Chinese cable
TV industry.
Previously,
Mr. Kalman was Managing Partner of Katalyst Venture Partners (KVP
I) and Internet Katalyst Investment Partners (IKIP I), venture
capital funds whose investments included: Breakaway Solutions,
where Mr. Kalman assisted the company through its explosive growth
from 20 employees to more than 1,000 and an IPO led by Morgan
Stanley, Deutsche Bank and Lehman Brothers; Internet Capital Group;
Sixth Dimension (acquired by Comverge, NASDAQ: COMV); Netuitive
and Investor Force. Mr. Kalman and Katalyst were exclusive financial
advisor to Arcadian Networks in their $90M financing led by Goldman
Sachs, which provides last mile wireless carrier services to the
energy sector using the 700 MHz licensed spectrum. Mr. Kalman
is also a founding investor in Arcadian Networks.
As
Chairman of Katalyst, Mr. Kalman oversaw the completion of over
$1B in transactions in the US and Europe from offices in NY, London
and Philadelphia. Previously, Mr. Kalman was Managing Director
of Naviant Technology Solutions, acquired by Equifax.
Mr.
Kalman began his career at IBM, where he served in sales, consulting,
technology and management positions. At IBM, Mr. Kalman worked
with clients in the payments industry. Earlier in his career at
IBM he led an advanced semiconductor diagnostics team.
Currently,
Mr. Kalman is a member of the Board of Directors of PE Systems
LLC, and a senior advisor to Skillnet GmbH. Former board and advisor
positions include: Director, China Cablecom (NASDAQ: CABL); Director,
RS Software (India) Ltd. (BSE: RSS); Advisor, Customer Analytics
(acquired by NASDAQ: EXAP); Advisor, Nstein Technologies (TSE:
EIN); and Advisor, Internet Capital Group (NASDAQ: ICGE).
Mr.
Kalman is a member of the Young President’s Organization
(YPO) and serves as Chapter Chairman for the Philadelphia Chapter
of YPO. He has broad national and international investment experience
in the U.S., Europe, Latin America, India, China, Israel and Canada.
Mr.
Kalman holds an MBA from Northwestern University’s J.L.
Kellogg School of Management and a Bachelor of Science, Applied
Physics, from Cornell University.
